One of the things we first recognised as a company was that if we wanted to provide an exceptional service, we needed to invest in extraordinary people. Michael Anderson – Managing Director

Michael Anderson is a graduate of Heriot Watt University. He initially studied Architectural Engineering before returning to undertake a Post Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying.

Commencing his career with Gerco in 2007 Michael swiftly moved up the ranks before leaving the company in 2011 to further his career as a Project Manager for a national contractor undertaking Internal Fit-Out Frameworks. With the urge to progress further Michael founded his contracting company before returning to Gerco-Fas in 2015 as Commercial Director. In the summer of 2016, Michael purchased Gerco-Fas from its original owner and founder Douglas Sampson whom he remains close to as a friend and confidante.

Chris Morrison – Commercial Director

Chris studied Quantity Surveying at Abertay University before commencing his career with the Civil Service. Following this, Chris worked with a national house builder before progressing his career with a multi-national fit out and refurbishment Contractor, where he spent over ten years as an integral part of the senior commercial team.

Chris brings a wealth of commercial experience in contracting within the UK and Europe, and with his drive to succeed and attention to detail, is now a key part of the Gerco-Fas senior management team which will grow the business.

Gillian Oswald – Senior Financial Controller 

Gill joined the team late in 2018.  Having graduated in Accounting and Finance from Edinburgh University, she has held finance roles in a variety of large and small organisations and therefore brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of finance.  Having worked in the construction industry previously she is no stranger to the business sector.

Jim Henderson – Project Manager 

Jim studied joinery, architectural technology and construction at Fife College, Kirkcaldy. He was approached to join the business by the directors in late 2019 for his 35+ years’ experience in fit-out including frameworks for stores and banks in the UK and several overseas projects. Jim brings organisation and a structured approach to leading our UK project operations teams.

William Nelson – Project Manager

A graduate of Edinburgh’s Napier University, Billy has been with the company since early 2016. The knowledge garnered from his early career with leading fit-out companies is tremendous for his years, and everyone at Gerco is excited that he brings such enthusiasm and precision to the workplace. With a background in Quantity Surveying and proven Project Management skills, Billy leads our Belgian based team on major Data Centre projects.

Allan Sharp – Contracts Manager (Specialist Projects)

Allan is an experienced fire stopper and heads an elite team charged with large-scale foreign projects. Currently flying the flag for Gerco-Fas in the Netherlands, Allan will soon be relocating his team to Switzerland for an extremely sensitive project. Widely known for his meticulous nature and determination to undertake the most challenging of tasks Allan is requested time and time again by contractors. Allan is an ever-appreciating asset to the business, and we’re delighted that he’s finding comfort in his management role.

Ian Forrester – Estimator

Ian joined Gerco-Fas in July 2020. He has over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry as both a Quantity Surveyor and Estimator. Ian’s background has been working for both main contractors and specialist subcontractors. Over the years Ian has enjoyed building positive working relationships throughout the industry and looks forward to continuing in doing so.

Susan Maclean – Project Administrator

Susan has worked in admin for 20 years. Working from Office Junior to Executive Assistant level and had gathered a wealth of admin skill and knowledge along the way. She joined the Gerco-Fas Business Support Team after moving to Fife from Edinburgh and will usually be the first point of contact with our office.
